Launch of the Digital Collection Pilot

The Belarusian-Jewish Cultural Heritage Center, in partnership with the Goethe-Institut Lithuania and with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office’s Eastern Partnership program, is launching the pilot phase of the Digital Collection for the Belarusian Jewish Museum.

This pilot marks the beginning of a long-term effort to build the museum’s digital foundation that will serve both as a research resource and as the basis for future multimedia exhibitions, immersive storytelling, and educational and cultural projects.

At the same time, the pilot provides space to explore new approaches to cultural heritage and museum-making. It engages civil society through “collectors” and “ambassadors” who help identify, gather, and share materials.

The concept of the Digital Collection brings together historical objects from museums and archives worldwide with personal items and memories, emphasizing shared heritage, connecting histories dispersed by time and borders.
