For the first time, the Award was presented in autumn 2019 as part of the #UNOVIS100 project and was the triumphant return of the name of the outstanding architect and artist to homeland.
The international jury of the nomination include Mark and Roman Khidekel (USA), Martina Bigliardi (Switzerland), Oleg Bykovsky (Belarus).
"Suprematism became the root of not only modern architecture, but also conceptual art, urban studies and ecological thinking, the pioneer of which was Lazar Khidekel. The strive to save nature and protect it from humans is also present in the work of contemporary architects - and this is the approach we wanted to appreciate when deciding to grant the awards", - Mark Khidekel.
Organizers and partners: Belarusian-Jewish Cultural Heritage Center, Belarusian Union of Architects, Lazar Khidekel Society.
